Whether you are looking for a BB cream in Singapore or shopping for mascara, you will want to take the weather into consideration. During hot, humid weather, sweat can wreak havoc on your makeup. To continue to look your best, use the following makeup tips.
Start With Minimal Morning Skin Care
If you use skin care products in the morning, you will want to switch your routine to the night before. In the morning, stick to just a cleanser and a light layer of moisturizer. If you apply too many skin care products or heavy moisturizer, it will weigh your face down. Over the course of a day in the sun, your makeup will start to slide off if you apply too much moisturizer.
While it may seem odd, cream is actually your best friend when it comes to humidity. A cream-based eye shadow, blush or foundation is better at adhering to your skin than powder-based makeup. If you have to use some powder, mix it with cream so that it lasts for longer.
When the temperature and humidity increase, you are probably going to start sweating. Keep this in mind as you buy your summer makeup. Waterproof mascara is ideal for sweaty days and trips to the pool. Unless you plan on looking like a raccoon by the end of the day, stick to waterproof mascara. Otherwise, your mascara will run, get in your eyes and ruin your entire look.
Remember to Prime
A primer is designed to give you a smooth base. It helps to adhere your foundation onto your skin, and separates your moisturizer from your makeup. For oily or easily clogged skin, stick to oil-free primers.
Focus on Using Less
Summertime is the best time of year to toss out your heavy makeup. When the sun heats up, you want to have a base that matches the colour of your skin and provides light coverage. Heavier products end up looking patchy and do not last for long in the sun. Ideally, you will want to use a product that contains SPF for added sun protection. If you have oily skin, use a product with oil control. For dry skin, find a tinted moisturizer that contains SPF.
Humidity and oil do not mix. When you use oil-based products in the summer, it can cause your makeup to melt off of your face and clog your pores. Ideally, you should stick to products that are mostly oil-free. This rule of thumb is especially true when it comes to foundation.
While your friends may sport the perfect tan, you need to find a way to get beautifully bronzed skin without developing skin cancer. If you want to darken your skin naturally, use a foundation that is a shade or two darker than your normal skin tone. You can also use a traditional bronzer, but be aware that the powered bronzers may appear patchy in a humid climate. Whatever you do, stick to products that contain SPF so that your skin remains looking young, healthy and cancer-free.
