There is a lot of hype and conjecture about the treatment, but these are some myths that are simply not true.  1. Botox fillers freeze your face into an emotionless stare.  Physicians are well trained to inject the correct dose into your facial muscles. This relaxes them, but does not prevent them from moving completely. You can still move your face to express emotions as you normally would, just with fewer wrinkles forming while you do it. 2. Dermal fillers and Botox are one in the same.  Dermal fillers are injected into the wrinkled area to plump the skin back out again. Botox relaxes the muscles around the wrinkles to keep the crease from forming while you emote. 3. It prevents further wrinkles from appearing.  Wrinkles form from natural facial movements over time. Botox may hasten their emergence, but unless you plan on staring off into the distance for the rest of your life, there is no treatment that can inhibit new ones from showing up. 4. Facial creams can give you the same results.  Creams can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, but they do not fill in the area to remove them.
